It’s official. I’m obsessed with the script. I cannot stop listening to them!
I have not been able to get this song out of my head for days.
The first snowfall. He’s like a little kid.
1. At least 5 people in this world, love you so much they would die for you.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you, in some way.
3. The only reason everyone would ever hate you, is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you, can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.
5. Every night, someone thinks about you they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. Without you, someone may not be living.
8. You are special and unique, in your own way.
9. Someone that you don’t know event exist, loves you.
10. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
11. When you think the world has turned it’s back on you, take a look, you most likely turned you back on the world.
12. When you think you have no chance at getting what you want, you probably won’t get it, but if you believe in yourself, you probably sooner or later will get it.
13. Always tell someone how you feel about them, you will fell much better when they know and in the end you’ll be glad you did.
14. Always remember complements you received, forget about the rude remarks. You will go through this life peacefully without grudge.

- Animal Collective
- Fall Be Kind
- Graze
Comfort, comfort
Why do you run for it?
Why can’t you keep doing
What you’re supposed to do?
This is the most addicting song on the entire album. At 3:00, a whole different world is revealed…
Another angle.
Inside I’m okay,
I can live without your time.
Where snowmen never melt,
Instead they always shine.
If you don’t believe in fantasy then don’t believe in fantasy,
But do you not believe in fatasy because it gets you down?
-Winter Wonder Land, Animal Collective
I’ve been making these stars like crazy. I swear, I have callouses on my hands now.
I loved that class.
What does the term ‘Indie’ mean to you? Some people associate the term with acoustic guitars, a low male voice with a British accent singing unusual upbeat lyrics; others with the Indy 500 Race, and some have never even heard the term.
Indie isn’t only alternative rock from England or the stereotypical plaid-wearing, giant bag carrying girl with wavy hair and big black sunglasses, or the guy who wears old, too tight pants with shirts in the same condition with messy hair and square, thick rimmed glasses. Indie, or Independent, music is basically just bands or artists that aren’t signed to one of four major labels, which include Warner Music Group, EMI, Sony Music, and Universal Music Group.. These bands and artists can be from any genre of music, and some even make their own. “Indie is just undiscovered awesomeness,” says Parrish E., a junior at EHS.
Bands choose to go with indie labels for many reasons. One reason is that the bands have more control over how their music sounds, what it says, and where and to whom it’s made available. This allows the artist to say what they want to say, and not what producers want them to say. Other reasons are that the production costs are way lower, and studio time is more readily available. With indie labels, bands are able to release their music over the Internet, which provides a larger audience. In recent years, some bands have even released entire CD’s for free. These factors contribute to the steady rise of independent music. “It’s about time people stopped caring about what other people like, or what they play on the radio, and care about what music truly means to them,” says Joe C., a former EHS student. Not all indie bands are undiscovered, though. Bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Reel Big Fish, and Bright Eyes are all well known, but signed to independent labels. Since Indie can be any genre, here are some suggestions from EHS students to for the major genres of music that students listen to:
Hip Hop - Aesop Rock, Sage Francis, Busdriver, Madvillain, El-P
Folk/Country - Andrew Bird, Neutral Milk Hotel, Elliott Smith, Bonnie Prince Billy, Grizzly Bear
Rock/Pop - TV on the Radio, Animal Collective, Pixies, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips
Punk - The Thermals, Meat Puppets, Fugazi, Sunny Day Real Estate, Circle Takes the Square
Metal - The Dillinger Escape Plan, Neurosis, Gojira, Enslaved, Genghis Tron
Electronica/Dance - LCD Soundsystem, The Knife, Crystal Castles, The Avalanches, Junior Boys
Animal Collective - What Would I Want? Sky
You’re not the only
one that treats new Animal Collective like a surprise present.
Here’s a track that you may be familiar with if you’ve seen AC live, but it will be present on their upcoming EP Fall Be Kind.
Good stuff. Listen up, soak it in.
I should be floating but I’m weighted by thinking.
